The UCDC Assessment Subcommittee, chaired by Professor Pam Pennock and advised by Academic Success Coordinator Jessica LaGrange, has developed the following procedures for Dearborn Discovery Core Assessment. AY1 (2015-16): Written and Oral Communication, Quantitative Thinking and Problem Solving, and Critical and Creative Thinking.
The Dearborn Discovery Core Subcommittee has the responsibility of reviewing all faculty requests for course approvals into the Dearborn Discovery Core . The Subcommittee shall meet once in early Fall semester and twice in the Winter semester.

In addition to completion of the Dearborn Discovery Core , the following courses are required to earn a dual BSE degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UM – Dearborn.

The catalog contains the following policies directly related to DDC: Transfer Placement Policy; Readmit Policy; Pass/Fail Policy; DDC Minimum Grade Policy; Transferring Quarter-Hour Credit Courses to the DDC; Evaluating Transfer Courses for DDC Credit, Dearborn Discovery Core Petition Process Approved May 31, 2016 When a unit advising office receives a student petition related to a DDC requirement, the office will route the petition to the Faculty Chair of the DDC Subcommittee on a rolling basis via email.
